What is different about Chinese car batteries
Most recent Chinese models use standard DIN or JIS battery sizes, so a correct replacement is easy to source. Newer models with start-stop use EFB or AGM batteries, and many have a battery sensor on the negative terminal that tracks charge. The battery must match the original technology.

Dealer warranty and battery replacement
If the car is still under its dealer warranty, check whether the original battery is covered before paying for a new one. Once it is out of cover, or if you need help at night or in a basement, a mobile replacement is usually the quickest fix.
Electric and plug-in hybrid models
Electric and plug-in hybrid cars such as BYD models still have a 12V battery that powers locks, screens and start-up. We replace that 12V battery only and never touch the high-voltage traction battery. Our hybrid and EV 12V battery guide explains the difference.
