Nissan Patrol battery price and size chart for popular UAE cars

No single battery fits every Nissan Patrol, Land Cruiser or Camry in the UAE: the correct size, capacity, cold cranking amps and type depend on the generation, engine and market specification, and the label on the battery fitted now is the most reliable quick reference. This chart lists the generations of the UAE’s most common models and what to confirm for each. Below it you will find how to read the size code, why the terminal side matters and what a replacement costs.

7 min read · InstaBattery editorial · Generation years checked against Toyota, Nissan and motoring press sources. We could not confirm GCC-specification battery sizes, capacities or cranking figures from a manufacturer fitment tool or owner’s manual, so those values are marked to be checked on the label rather than guessed.

Battery size chart for popular UAE models

Each row covers one generation, with a link to the model page where we keep more detail. Where a figure could not be confirmed for GCC-specification cars, the chart says so rather than printing a number that might be wrong for your car. Use the “check first” column to narrow down what your car needs before you read the label.

Battery specifications vary by engine, model year and market. GCC-specification cars can differ from European, American or Australian versions of the same model, so always check the replacement against the label on your current battery and your owner’s manual.

Why one number per model is not safe

The same model name can hide several batteries. A Land Cruiser or Patrol may have been sold with different engines and electrical equipment over a generation, and the Camry is sold in the UAE as both a petrol car and a hybrid with a separate 12V arrangement. Online fitment databases are often built for other markets, which do not always match GCC-specification cars. That is why this chart prints generations and checks, and leaves the numbers to the label on your car.

How to read a Japanese size code

Batteries for many Japanese-brand cars carry a Japanese (JIS) code such as 36B20L. Daihatsu’s guide breaks it into four parts, and the size and terminal parts are the ones that decide whether a battery physically fits. Sources disagree on whether the leading number equals the capacity in Ah, so read the Ah figure printed separately on the label.

  • 36: a rating that rises with capacity. Use the separate Ah figure on the label for the exact capacity.
  • B: the width and height class of the case.
  • 20: the length of the battery in centimetres.
  • L: the negative terminal is on the left side. R means it is on the right.

Ah, CCA and type: the other three things on the label

Capacity in amp hours (Ah) is how much charge the battery stores, and cold cranking amps (CCA) is how much current it can deliver to turn the engine over. Match or exceed both figures from the original label; a smaller battery that happens to fit the tray will struggle in a large engine. The type matters just as much: Varta says an AGM must always be replaced with another AGM, and our guide to AGM vs EFB car batteries explains how to tell which you have.

Why the terminal side matters

Two batteries with the same case size can have their terminals on opposite sides, which is what the final L or R in a JIS code tells you. Fit the wrong layout and the car’s cables may not reach, or may be stretched across the top of the battery, which is a short-circuit risk. Note the terminal side before you buy, or let the fitter compare it with the original on the spot. Our car battery sizes page shows the common layouts.

Notes on specific models

A few details help when you are checking the label on these cars. They come from the generation history of each model rather than from a fitment list.

  • Nissan Patrol: the Y62 ran from its Abu Dhabi launch in 2010 until the all-new Patrol was revealed in 2024, so check which generation you have before comparing batteries.
  • Toyota Land Cruiser: the J300 launched in August 2021 as a complete redesign of the J200, which first went on sale in 2007. Do not assume a J200 battery suits a J300.
  • Toyota Camry: the current-generation car arrived in 2017. If yours is a hybrid, read our guide to hybrid 12V battery replacement first.
  • Mitsubishi Pajero: production ended in 2021, so most cars have had several replacements. The battery fitted now may not be the original type, so confirm against the manual.

What a Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser battery costs

The price depends on the size, capacity and type your car needs, so the same figure will not apply to every Patrol or Land Cruiser. InstaBattery’s fitted prices start from AED 180, with warranty of up to 24 months depending on the battery, and you can pay by cash, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Tabby or Tamara. Our car battery replacement cost guide explains what pushes the price up or down.

Getting the right battery fitted

If you are unsure what your car needs, start with the label on the battery fitted now and the owner’s manual. Our mobile battery replacement service tests the battery first, fits the replacement at your car and takes the old one away. We offer 24/7 car battery replacement in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, usually arriving within 25 to 40 minutes.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions worth asking.

What size battery does a Nissan Patrol take?

It depends on the generation and specification, so read the size code and Ah on the battery fitted now. We could not confirm a single GCC-specification size for the Y62 from a manufacturer source.

What does the L or R in a battery code mean?

It shows which side the negative terminal is on: L for left, R for right. Fitting the wrong layout can leave the car’s cables too short to reach.

Can I fit a bigger battery than the original?

Only if it fits the tray, has the same terminal layout and is the same type or better. Matching or exceeding the original Ah and CCA is fine; downgrading from AGM is not.

How much does a Land Cruiser battery cost in the UAE?

It depends on the battery the car needs. InstaBattery’s fitted prices start from AED 180, and the final figure depends on the battery your car needs.
